To arrive to Montalcino from Milano (405 km), go along the A1 motorway in the direction of Rome. Exit at Firenze-Certosa, then take the Firenze-Siena highway. Get off at Siena Sud (Porta Tufi) and to take the SS2 (Cassia) in direction of Roma. Drive through Isola d'Arbia and the sudsequent small town. After Buonconvento, turn right to get on to the SP45 of Brunello and drive on to Montalcino.
There are two options when going to Montalcino from Roma (219 km). The first route; drive along the SS2 (Cassia) in direction of Siena. After S.Quirico d’Orcia, near Torrenieri; turn in the direction of Montalcino. The second option; go along the A1 motorway in the direction of Firenze. Get off at Chiusi and get on the SS146. Drive through Chianciano Terme, Montepulciano, Pienza and S.Quirico d’Orcia. Then take the SS2 (Cassia) in the direction of Siena and follow the signs Montalcino.
To get to Montalcino from Grosseto (55 km), go along the SS223 Grosseto-Siena, highway and turn right at Paganico SP64. Drive on following the directions for Monte Amiata as far as the left turn for S.Angelo Scalo SP52. Then drive on Montalcino.
